I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the novice remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
